Jewels are baubles; 't is a sin to care for such unfruitful things;
One good-sized diamond in a pin some, not so large, in rings,
A ruby, and a pearl or so, will do for me;-
I laugh at show.........

Poor old Mont.
He's in a boat that has no sail, cast adrift on a windless sea carried along on a current of fear bound for nowhere he wants to be.
He doesn't remember growing old he remembers being young. In a land that always seemed to be a summer's afternoon.
He's escaped into the darkness with a smile touched with sadness. He has not always been THIS man,
he used to be another man.....................
As day and night come crashing in with no space between for a cock to crow.
Night comes with his star's picking their way into the evening sky.
And soon the day shining her light and pushing the moon and sapphires away.
Now there is no time between day and night from one to the other without twilight.
Let the day and night come crashing in with no space for dusk or dawn.
Thank you very much, thank you very much. That's the nicest sketch that anyone's ever done for me. You've give me nice green eyes, I never realised, that's the way you've always have thought of me. And if I had me drum I'd do a drum roll, to show you I like what you have done. But as I've left me drum at home I simply have to say. Thank you very very very much. Thank you very very very much.
Thank you very much, thank you very much. That's the nicest thing that anyone's ever done for me.You've put me on your blog and you've wrote this monologue, and you nearly draw a smile on my face for me. And if I had me bugle I would blow it to show you how happy I can be. But as I've left me bugle at home I simply have to say. Thank you very very very much, thank you very very very much.
Thank you very much, thank you very much. That's the nicest gift that anyone ever gave to me. I feel that we're a team, the best there's ever been, and everyone is playing in the game for me. And if I had me whistle I would blow it as if I was a Celestial referee. But as I've left me whistle at home I simply have to say. Thank you very very very much, thank you very very very much...........................
For all I know Holly's been on holiday, she comes and goes nearly every other day.
City breaks or a cruise if work will permit, she holds out her hand and her passport is in it.
For all I know it's a magic carpet flight, too somewhere exotic to delight and to excite.
Bahrain or Mexico are the places to go , Blackpool or Skeggy they would be a no show.
For all she knows it may only be a dream, she comes and goes like the ripples in a stream.
Doctors and midwives all agree and say, time off work is called a Holly day..........
Grandad gave her half-a-crown to buy a ribbon for her hair, holding tight to Grandad's hand to the shop to see what's there. When they drew up to the counter reels of ribbons in a row, yellow, blue, pink and orange all the colours there on show, but for one her heart was set on, what she wished for there was none.
Grandad said there was a shop he knew a long long time ago, by the market in the old square when a young man he went there, to buy a ribbon for a sweetheart, to buy a ribbon for her hair. In the old shop he and Susan walked up to the counter there, Susan spent her two and sixpence on a ribbon, a golden ribbon, the one she wished for for her hair............
Things faces friends places, years and moments half-forgotten.
Laughs, fears songs tears memories are made of this........
THINGS I know, FACES I love, FRIENDS to be with PLACES to go.
YEARS I've lived through, AND MOMENTS in time.
HALF-FORGOTTEN stories told in rhyme
LAUGHS with my brother FEARS of crime, SONG to be written,
and TEARS sometimes.
MEMORIES of old times ARE here to stay.
And MADE OF THIS is my life to this day.........
