Ukulele song chords

D.                                                        Gbm
I     see     her     face     when     I     close     my     eye's
  G                                              A
In     my     dream's     she's     there.
  D                                          Gbm
She's     been     gone     a     long     long     time
       G                                   A
it     just     seem's     so     unfair.
      Bm                                   Gbm
I     remember     returning     home     at     night
                G                                   A
when     things     had     gone     awry
 D                                     Gbm
I     was     safe     and     sound     there
 G                 A                    D        D   D   D   D
I     was     home     and     dry.

D                                     Gbm
She's     past     Eden     rock    now     with     her
    G                                 A
 husband    by     her     side.
 D                                                Gbm
But     she's     still     looking     out     for     me
G                                  A
that     can't     be     denied.
 Bm                                  Gbm
When     she     bid     goodbye     to     me
G                                             A
I     couldn't     help     but     cry,
  D                                                Gbm
but     I     was     safe     and     sound     then
 G                A                   D
I     was     home     and     dry.

D                                           Gbm
Over     the     chasm     of     years     I've     thought
  G                                                   A
there's     something    I     have     lost,
D                                         Gbm
The     past     is     always     close    behind
G                                     A
the     future     is     star-crossed.
   Bm                                            Gbm
The     worst     is     yet     to     happen
G                                        A
on     that     you     can     rely.
  D                                    Gbm
Hopefully     I'll     be     safe     and     sound,
G.                 A                     D    D    D   D
I'll     be     home     and     dry.

D                                           Gbm
In     my     mind     I've     always     had     a
  G                                           A
place     were     I     could     go,
  D                                 Gbm
you     can't     turn     back     the     clocks
 G                                    A
this    we     all     do     know.
     Bm                            Gbm
nonchalantly     she     looks     my     way
  G                                                A
and     asks     the     question     why.
  D                                              Gbm
but     I'll     be     safe     and     sound        then
  G.               A                     D
I'll     be     home     and     dry.

  D                                                Gbm
The     mistress     of     the     unknown     God
 G                                                 A
had     me     chained     and     bound,
  D                                                      Gbm
her     grey     green     eyes     that     sparkled  once
  G                                                         A
have     all     but     dimmed    and     died.
    Bm                                                    Gbm
I     ran     on     home     in     the     midnight    rain
  G                                    A
her     love     I     did     defy.
  D                                     Gbm
I     was     safe     and     sound     again
  G                A                    D
I     was     home     and     dry.

  D                                        Gbm
I     left     a     trail     of     foot     prints
  G                                     A
along     the     waters     edge,
  D                                 Gbm
thinking     how     impulsively     we     dropped
 G                             A
the     promise     pledged.
   Bm                                          Gbm
But     now     I     see     the     way     I     cared
  G                                    A
meant     I'd     do     or     die.
  D                                                      Gbm
I     thought     I     was     safe     and     sound
  G                                A                      D
thought     I     was     home     and     dry.

D                                                              Gbm
I     thought     I     was     safe     and     sound
  G                                                A
thought     I'm     home     and     dry.
 D                                       Gbm
All     the     decisions     made     that     day
  G                                     A
I     know     I     will     comply.
   Bm                                    Gbm
A     walking     shadow     now     for     sure
 G                                       A
for     my     youth     I     yearn.
  D                                        Gbm
I'm     not     safe     and     sound     now
  G                   A                    D
I     might     crash     and     burn.

I'm looking through you

We come to life with a cry and end it with a sigh,
and the years between are filled with sorrow,
pain and joy.

Happiness is a virus we all contract sometime,
and like a virus it will leave without any
reason or rhyme.

Love is merry misery you find out all too soon,
and as for joy and happiness, Well; that turns
to misfortune.

The dying words of good Queen Bess when she
was past her prime. "All my possessions for one
more moment of time".

Life is full of heartache torment suffering and pain,
heartbreak angst and worry, despair,
foreboding and shame.

And as we approach our final sigh we know that life
is tough. And yet we still whisper,
Life's not long enough.

apple blossom time

The world is just a rotting apple and we've all had our bite. And now it's too late to stop the rot, the human race, its bolt's been shot.

The human race has made a tower ten thousand meters high,  off we've jumped and down we go the human race is going to die.

We're on our way  into the ground of this world we did pollute. And desperately we try, with a collective sigh, to invent the parachute.

We'll be gone but the world  lives on to evolve to a better place. And we  leave to our world the human trace, of a plastic smile upon it's face.

Coffee Painting

I miss the day's of  " let's make do"  who thought I ever would.
The night time walk back through the park crossing the bridge into the dark.
I spoke of nights together and how we would be free, to love and live in a foreign land and you  were close to me.
The house we shared together had nothing in it new, a lick of paint but no complaint you said just " let's make do."
Tomorrow was years away, and yesterday long gone,  departed to another life, dismantled eclipsed outshone.
The feeling of a memory something to renew,
now I remember frosty nights and holding tight to you.

Ancient Lover

Ancient person, for whom I
all the flattering youth defy,
Long be it ere thou grow old,
Aching, shaking, crazy, cold;
But still continue as thou art,
   Ancient person of my heart.

kiss me

Jenny Kiss'd me when we met
jumping from the chair she sat in.
Time, you thief, who love to get
sweets into your list, put that in!
Say I'm weary, Say I'm sad,
Say that health and wealth as miss'd me,
Say I'm growing old, but add
Jenny Kiss'd me.
